What’s the worst that can happen? (Getting over my fear of public speaking!)

I’ve dreaded public speaking since I was a child, but reading Quiet by Susan Cain gave me the revelation that sometimes it is worth more to actually just get over yourself and talk about what is on your heart. And for me, it is weighing up these two things – what do I have to say, and is saying that worth more to me than the cost of saying it? (potential embarrassment and fluffing your lines vs speaking a message that may bring encouragement and comradeship on the creative pathway). I hope it’s the latter.

I am excited to be sharing at the Creative Christianity Summit which will be happening in a couple of weeks (June 15th -19th) BUT its all digital and online so you can watch back for a year, which is fab news because for weeks, I used these talks to accompany my washing up and had a few glorious and revelatory experiences there.

From reading Julia Cameron’s ‘The Artist’s Way’, I have learned that it is really worth investing in your creativity. It is no brave thing to starve yourself, when what you really need is to come alive and for your creativity to come alive, so think about it. Why not invest in your creativity and take some time for yourself. There’s loads of workshops, talks and interviews, and it will leave you buzzing with ideas..
