Gratitude #25

#25 Our house. (I make no apologies for completely ignoring what is happening in the world at the moment, just homing in today.) We moved here 6 and a half years ago, and then it felt a bit like our lives fell apart when Ivy was diagnosed with T1 diabetes, but we got back up and kept on but her diagnosis has certainly changed me from the core..
.
But anyways, I wanted to talk about the house! We moved here as it was the only 3 bed house to rent at the time we exchanged on our house in Guildford so my Mum and Dad came to view it and they said they would happily live here and so that was that. We moved in without ever having seen it (I was heavily pregnant at the time so didn’t want to make the trip). And it has been such a surprise of a house to us. The garden has these little secrets that come out throughout the year; the primroses and crocuses that pop up through the lawn in March, the cherry blossom that floods the tree in April/May, the cascade of roses on the trellis in June, the unfurling ferns, the deep red of the cherry tree in Autumn, the red rose hips and pears. 😭 Thinking about it, I will miss it quite a lot! But it is time for us to move on, to a place of our own, up on a hill with a view. It feels like a writer’s house and I can’t wait! How are you guys coping with all this craziness?? Are you writing too? #writingfixeseverything #gratitude #gratitudepoem
