‘Mummy’, he whispers in my ear,
‘Come close to me’.
He is full of cold.
It is nice to be wanted
by this boisterous boy
for a change.
He can normally do it all himself.
I move my head to his
press my cheek against his fluffy hair,
and soon he breathes the deep
rhythm of sleep.
