He pulls the carrot from the ground,
And is amazed at what he finds.
The bright orange of it peeks through the soil
which he shakes from it.
‘My carrot!’ he says.
He sowed it, watered it, watched it grow
and is pleased with himself now,
pleased with what he finds.
