#35

The kids are asleep and we’re like ‘quick! Tidy the house,
get the dishes done,
stand outside in the evening sunshine’.
There must be some semblance of normality here,
without the whirlwind,
the half-thoughts,
the avalanche of children.
It is so good to have the sun
on my face in the evening,
to hear the lonely bird chirp slowly,
To stand in one place for as long as I like,
without being called to this or to that.
